Seven-Year-Old Boy Dies in Negev Road Accident

A seven-year-old boy was killed in a road accident in the Negev on Friday evening, following a day that saw five other fatalities on Israeli roads. Emergency services were called to Route 264, near Rahat, where the child had been brought by a private vehicle. Paramedics found the boy unconscious and suffering from severe, multi-system injuries. Despite their efforts, they were forced to declare his death at the scene.

This incident occurred after a day of multiple fatal crashes across the country. Earlier on Friday, two men in their 30s died in a collision between two private cars on Route 310 in the Negev, near Gevivot Bar, an area also close to Rahat. Later, a 70-year-old taxi driver was killed by a bus on the Ayalon Highway, and a motorcyclist in his mid-30s died after being hit by a car near Kiryat Ata.

The first fatality of the day was a cyclist in his 50s, who was struck by a vehicle on the border between Tel Aviv and Herzliya. In connection with this incident, a 24-year-old resident of Nablus, identified as an illegal resident, was arrested on suspicion of stealing a car and then fatally hitting the cyclist. Authorities suspect the driver panicked upon seeing a police car and sped away, leading to the collision.
