New Electric Car AION UT Sells Over 100 Units in Israel Within 72 Hours
The new AION UT electric vehicle has seen significant demand in Israel since its sales launch, with over 100 pre-orders placed within the first 72 hours. This model, positioned as an urban and family electric car, has garnered substantial interest from Israeli consumers.
The AION UT is priced starting at 116,990 shekels for the BEAT trim, with a higher-tier VIBE version available for 121,990 shekels. Elad Goldfarb, CEO of official importer Orion Mobility, described the offering as exceptional for the Israeli market, stating that customers are receiving a high-quality vehicle at a price point not seen in years.
Developed for the European market with design input from GAC's Milan design center, the AION UT emphasizes interior space despite its compact dimensions. It features a 2.75-meter wheelbase and a 1.35-meter wide rear bench. The cargo space can expand to 1600 liters with the rear seats folded.
Technically, the car is equipped with a 204-horsepower electric motor and a GAC-developed LFP Magazine Battery, offering a WLTP-rated range of up to 430 kilometers. Standard features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, OTA software updates, and V2L technology, which allows the car's battery to power external devices.
Safety is a key focus, with the AION UT equipped with seven airbags and a suite of active safety systems. It has achieved a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating under the 2026 protocol and a maximum score of 8 points in Israeli Ministry of Transport safety tests.
The AION brand is part of GAC, a major Chinese automaker with existing partnerships with companies like Toyota and Honda. In Israel, AION vehicles are imported by the Union Group, and the car comes with an eight-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty, with the battery covered for eight years or 200,000 kilometers.
