Erez Tal and Orna Banai's Charity Special Raises Over 4.6 Million Shekels

The beloved Israeli cult show "Rak Be'israel" (Just in Israel) returned to screens for a special fundraising broadcast for the "Chalasetan" association, which supports young adults battling cancer. During the live event, viewers donated a significant sum of 4,650,304 shekels.

Hosts Erez Tal and Orna Banai reprised their popular characters, Shimon and Limor, respectively, alongside a host of special guests. A notable segment featured Limor, in character as a political candidate, interviewing Amir Banai. The interview quickly devolved, with Limor's character making personal jabs at Amir's family and mother, leading him to storm out of the studio. The special satirized the upcoming elections, with Limor's fictional "Splinter Party" preparing for a Knesset run. The broadcast also included comedic sketches featuring Magen Azarzar as a long-lost daughter and Yael Shelbia as the prime minister's wife. Children's entertainer Maiki the Spectacled (Maiki Tzion Barashit) performed the song "Squishies Party," declared the party's anthem.

Additionally, the results of a competition held on the mako website to choose the show's next dog were announced. The website's users selected "Boten" to succeed the show's iconic dog, Shuki, who passed away approximately nine years ago. Actor Tzachi Halevy also participated, portraying Limor's bodyguard. Halevy described the role as one of his most challenging, even more so than combat service, humorously noting that Shimon, Limor's long-time partner, was the most dangerous threat. Halevy emphasized the importance of supporting young cancer patients and expressed hope that the broadcast would encourage public generosity.
