Hasidic Leader Recites Tashlikh Prayer by Lake in Bnei Brak

By כיכר השבת, חיים רוזנבוים
Translated & summarized from Kikar HaShabbat by baba
The story · English

The Rebbe of Shomrei Emunim, accompanied by his followers, arrived at the 'Animal Corner' in Bnei Brak to recite the Tashlikh prayer. The Rebbe stood by the edge of the lake and recited the Tashlikh service with reverence. At the conclusion of the prayer, he shook the hems of his garments towards the water, a symbolic act performed by many during the High Holidays.

The Tashlikh prayer, traditionally recited on Rosh Hashanah, involves symbolically casting away sins into a body of water. The location chosen for this year's ceremony, the 'Animal Corner' in Bnei Brak, is a local park or nature reserve.
