Hasidic Rabbi Holds Tashlikh Ceremony on Ashdod Beach
The story · English
The Rebbe of Krachnef, accompanied by his followers, performed the Tashlikh prayer ceremony on the segregated beach in Ashdod. Ahead of the event, young followers prepared a blue carpet to honor their leader. The Rebbe sat facing the sea, with a royal table set before him, adorned with an embroidered tablecloth, and recited the Tashlikh prayers while his followers surrounded him.
Tashlikh is a customary Jewish penitential rite performed annually on Rosh Hashanah, where Jews symbolically cast away their sins by the water. The Krachnef Hasidic dynasty is a branch of Hasidic Judaism.
