Hasidic Followers Observe Tashlikh Ritual with Ornamental Fish

Followers of the Levi tribe Hasidic dynasty performed the Tashlikh ritual, a pre-Yom Kippur tradition, in a Sukkah erected at their institutions' courtyard. The Rebbe of the Levi tribe led the ceremony.

During the ritual, the Hasidim gathered around a blue basin placed on a special platform. Inside the basin, several colorful ornamental fish swam, symbolizing the casting away of sins.

The Tashlikh ceremony, traditionally performed by casting breadcrumbs into a body of water to symbolize the casting away of sins, was adapted for this occasion with the use of ornamental fish in a basin.
