Reality television personality Ohad Buzaglo, 44, revealed on Thursday that he voluntarily admitted himself to the mental health institution, Beer Yaakov's famous "Abarbanel" Hospital. Buzaglo, who had previously claimed a "spiritual awakening" a year prior, during which he asserted he was Moses in a past life and adopted the role of a modern prophet, was released after several days.
Buzaglo had been absent from social media recently, a departure from his usual consistent updates of prophecies to his followers. He posted a cryptic Instagram story showing the numerical value (gematria) of the word "Abarbanel" as 285, which he equated to the phrase "Ohad woke up from the dream." He captioned the post, "To all those asking where I disappeared to, I was voluntarily hospitalized. The truth is with me."
In another screenshot, Buzaglo shared the gematria for "Ohad Buzaglo in a committee at Abarbanel" as 444, which he linked to religious phrases such as "You are the Lord," "God the Messiah," and "David, a rib from my ribs." He added, "Of course, I was released."
Buzaglo first gained public recognition as a footballer who did not play in the top league. He became widely known through the reality documentary series about his famous family, "The Buzaglos." In 2021, he participated in the reality show "Survivor" and was the second contestant eliminated. He cultivated a significant social media presence due to his extravagant lifestyle and relationships until last year's claim of a spiritual revelation.
