Health Ministry Warns Against Swimming in 10 Northern Streams Due to Severe Contamination
Israel's Ministry of Health has issued a public warning against entering ten streams in northern Israel due to significantly elevated levels of fecal bacteria found in recent water tests. The contamination was detected on September 16th in the Hatzbani, Jordan, Meshushim Pool, Gilbon, Yehudiya, Zivan, Zaki, Al Al, Tsalmon, and Keziv streams.
The ministry stated that the bacteria levels exceed their recommendations and pose a potential health risk. Residents are advised to avoid contact with the water in these streams until further tests confirm the water is safe for entry. The Ministry of Health is continuing its sampling and monitoring efforts in the affected areas.
