Iran Rebuilding Damaged Nuclear Site After Israeli Strikes, Satellite Images Show
Satellite imagery indicates that Iran is actively rebuilding the "Taleghan-2" facility, located within the Parchin military complex approximately 30 kilometers southeast of Tehran. The Institute for Science and International Security (ISIS) reported that following recent strikes, Iran has undertaken repair and reconstruction work at the site. Images from June and July reveal site clearing, the presence of heavy equipment, and construction activities, including the installation of rebar and concrete pouring to reinforce a damaged section of the structure.
The "Taleghan-2" facility was first damaged by an Israeli strike in October 2024. Iran subsequently began reconstruction efforts, but the site was hit again by an Israeli strike in March 2026. According to ISIS, the March attack resulted in the destruction of the main hardened structure.
Israel has previously stated that the facility was used by the Iranian regime to develop nuclear weapons capabilities. However, ISIS noted that further information is required to accurately assess the purpose of the rebuilt facility.
