Settler Activist Attacked in Prison by Convicted Rapist

Two of the security prisoners who attacked settlement activist Tal Yinon Dardik in Nitzan prison have been identified. One is a member of the Hariri crime family, and the other is Abraham Gobran, who was convicted of raping a 13-year-old girl in Netanya. Dardik, who was on a hunger strike protesting his administrative detention, was attacked earlier this week by four prisoners in the prison courtyard during the Rosh Hashanah holiday and sustained injuries, including a deep cut above his eye and significant bleeding. His family stated that he was attacked and stabbed by "Arab thugs" solely because he is a "Jewish pioneer," and that this is the reason for the administrative order against him. The Israel Prison Service reported that guards noticed inmates attacking another inmate in the courtyard. They intervened, and no weapons were found. Initial investigation suggests the victim provoked other inmates in the courtyard. Dardik is being held in administrative detention after violating a restraining order issued by the Central Command general. His family claims the conditions of the order were impossible for him to meet. He had previously gone on a hunger strike over his detention and the restraining order.
