Israeli Forces Shoot Palestinian Suspect During West Bank Raid
Elite Israeli counter-terrorism unit "Gideonim" (Unit 33) of Lahav 433, in a joint operation with the Shin Bet security agency, raided a building in the Balata refugee camp in the West Bank on Tuesday. The forces were targeting a senior Tanzim operative, described as a 35-year-old resident of Kafr Qallil with high access to weapons.
Upon entering the structure, the suspect actively resisted arrest and attempted to flee. Israeli soldiers responded by firing targeted shots at his lower body, preventing his escape and neutralizing the threat. The operative was shot in the legs, apprehended, and given initial medical treatment by paramedics before being transferred to Shin Bet facilities for further investigation.
No Israeli forces were injured during the operation. The raid was reportedly coordinated by the Samaria Brigade and involved close cooperation with the Shin Bet. Video footage of the arrest was released by the police spokesperson.
