Israeli Forces Neutralize Terrorist Attempting Escape in Balata Refugee Camp

Israeli special forces, operating under the Gideonim 33 unit of Lahav 433, apprehended a terrorist operative from the Fatah-affiliated Tanzim group during an operation in the Balata refugee camp on Tuesday night. The operation, led by the Samaria Brigade and conducted in cooperation with the Shin Bet security agency, involved undercover forces raiding the camp.

Forces located the suspect, identified as a 35-year-old resident of the village of Kafr Qallil, inside a structure. Security officials described him as a Tanzim operative who was "sensitive and accessible to weapons and ammunition." Upon the soldiers' entry and identification of the suspect, he attempted to escape and resisted the forces.

In response, the soldiers fired precisely at his legs, neutralizing him. The apprehended terrorist received initial medical treatment at the scene before being transferred for further interrogation by the Shin Bet. No Israeli forces were injured during the operation.

Security officials emphasized that operations against terrorist operatives will continue across all fronts to thwart threats against Israeli civilians and security forces.
