Channel 14 Analyst Itamar Fleishman Reveals Suicide Plan

Itamar Fleishman, a senior analyst on Channel 14's "The Patriots" program, has revealed in a recent interview that he had a structured plan to commit suicide.

Fleishman, who has previously spoken about his mental health struggles leading to psychiatric hospitalization, shared details of his suicidal thoughts with interviewer Omri Assenheim on Reshet 13. He admitted that at one point, he felt indifferent to what would happen, thinking he would "not be here soon."

When asked directly if he had considered taking his own life, Fleishman responded affirmatively, stating, "Yes, of course. Obviously, part of it. If you reach such a state, it's an act of self-defense." He confirmed to Assenheim that he had a plan, which he stated still exists but he does not intend to use.

Fleishman described a specific instance after his hospitalizations when he considered writing a suicide note. He differentiated between impulsive suicidal urges, like jumping in front of a train, and a more calculated plan that developed later. He recalled finding a pen that didn't work, which led him to laugh at the situation and reconsider his actions.

Ultimately, Fleishman decided to postpone his plan, recalling advice that "one can always commit suicide tomorrow morning." This prompted him to try and overcome his struggles, telling himself, "Forget the letter for a second. I sat with myself for a day or two, and decided why commit suicide? Let's try to get out of this."
