Israel National Football Team Coach Names Squad, Omits Key Players
National team coach Ran Ben Shimon announced his squad for the upcoming four Nations League matches, leaving out several in-form players. Notable omissions include Hapoel Tel Aviv star Stav Tzuriel, who has three goals and two assists this season, including one in the recent derby. Also left out was Oser Davida, who has two goals and three assists for Hapoel Tel Aviv and has yet to debut for the senior national team. Dia Saba, who assisted Jordan Shua's winning goal against Belgium in the Nations League, has scored two goals for Turkish club Umraniyespor this season. Eden Kartsev, playing in China, has four goals and an assist in 22 appearances. In defense, Doron Leidner, who also had a strong start to the season with Hapoel Tel Aviv, was not included. Goalkeeper Ofir Marciano, who has performed well over the last six months, could have competed for a third-goalkeeper spot with Assaf Tzur.
