Hapoel Petah Tikva Disappointed by Guy Badash's Refusal to Transfer to Ashdod

Hapoel Petah Tikva is expressing disappointment with player Guy Badash, who refused a transfer to Maccabi Ashdod. Consequently, Badash was not included in the squad for the team's recent match against Hapoel Be'er Sheva. The club is currently considering how to proceed with the player, especially with the arrival of Ro'i Levi from Be'er Sheva, who can also play on the wing.

Badash is reportedly the highest-earning Israeli player on the team, with a net monthly salary of approximately NIS 40,000. Coach Omer Peretz recently stated that Badash "is not suited to our system." In contrast, Ro'i Levi is expected to earn around NIS 30,000 per month, and Be'er Sheva loaned him to Hapoel Petah Tikva without a transfer fee.

Levi's arrival may pave the way for Peretz to revert to a formation utilizing wingers, a system that proved successful last year. Some players within the club expressed a desire to "return to our roots" with this formation, moving away from the current system that fluctuates between a back four and three center-backs.

Separately, Shavit Mazal, who transferred to Maccabi Ashdod, did not leave Hapoel Petah Tikva solely for professional reasons. The club was reportedly dissatisfied with his conduct during training sessions, with sources claiming the player was frequently late, displayed dissatisfaction, and did not take the coach seriously. The coach conveyed a clear message to the management that Mazal was not part of his professional plans, leading to the player's departure to Ashdod.
