IDF Eliminates Three Hamas and Islamic Jihad Operatives in Northern Gaza
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Wednesday that it had eliminated three operatives from the military wings of Hamas and Islamic Jihad in northern Gaza Strip through three separate strikes. The IDF stated that these individuals were recently involved in firing and planting explosives targeting IDF forces.
Earlier on Wednesday, the IDF struck in the Daraj Tufah area, killing Said Assad Said Akram, a commander in Hamas's Daraj Tufah battalion. According to the IDF, Akram was recently active in operating explosives and advancing firing plans against the army.
In two additional strikes conducted Tuesday in northern Gaza, the IDF reported the deaths of Nimar Yasser Nimar Arshi, a regional Hamas operative in the Islamic Jihad military wing, and Ahmed Bazat Saleh Shaar, an operative in Hamas's Shuja'iya battalion.
The IDF stated that Arshi participated in rocket launches from the Daraj Tufah area toward Israel, and Shaar was recently involved in planting explosives. The military asserted that the operatives' recent activities to advance terror plans, in systematic violation of the ceasefire, posed a threat to IDF forces, and they were eliminated to remove this threat.
