IDF Strikes Gaza, Eliminating Three Hamas and Islamic Jihad Operatives

The Israeli military announced Wednesday that it had eliminated three operatives from the military wings of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad in northern Gaza. The IDF stated that these individuals were involved in advancing shooting attacks and planting explosives targeting Israeli forces.

Earlier on Wednesday, an Israeli airstrike in the Daraj Tuffah area of northern Gaza killed Said Asaad Said Akram, identified by the IDF as a commander in Hamas's military wing for the Daraj Tuffah battalion. According to the IDF spokesperson, Akram had recently been engaged in activating explosive devices and planning shooting attacks against Israeli troops.

Two additional strikes conducted on Tuesday resulted in the deaths of two other operatives. Namer Yasser Namer Arshi, described as a Gaza Division operative in Islamic Jihad's military wing, allegedly participated in rocket launches from the Daraj Tuffah area toward Israel, the IDF reported. Also killed was Ahmed Bazat Saleh Shaer, a Hamas operative in the Shuja'iyya battalion, who the army claims was recently involved in planting explosives.

The IDF spokesperson asserted that the operatives' activities, which allegedly involved systematic violations of the ceasefire, posed a threat to Israeli forces. The strikes were carried out to neutralize this threat. Forces from the Southern Command remain deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement, and the IDF stated it will continue to act against any immediate threats.
