Israeli Culture Minister Slams "NAZA" Filmmakers as Traitors

Israeli Culture and Sports Minister Miki Zohar fiercely criticized the directors of the film "NAZA" on Wednesday, labeling their actions "an act of treason." Speaking to i24NEWS Hebrew, Zohar also accused several opposition figures of failing to unequivocally condemn the filmmakers. The film "NAZA," which received an award at the Venice Film Festival, has ignited controversy in Israel due to its content, featuring testimonies from Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers about operations in the Gaza Strip during the war.

Zohar specifically targeted Yair Golan, chairman of the Democrats party, and other opposition members, accusing them of not taking a clear stance against the film's creators. The minister reiterated his call to revoke the Israeli citizenship of the two filmmakers. He revealed he had asked the head of the Shin Bet security agency to investigate how the directors obtained the documents and information presented in the film.

According to Zohar, some information in "NAZA" might have originated from Hamas. He described the directors' behavior as a "breach of trust towards the State of Israel," suggesting it warrants stripping them of their citizenship. Zohar further stated that if a Shin Bet investigation uncovers more serious transgressions than currently known, the directors should face imprisonment.
