IDF Reveals and Destroys Hezbollah's Strategic Tunnels in Southern Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has released new footage showcasing the destruction of Hezbollah's underground infrastructure located in the Ali Taher mountain range in southern Lebanon. Commando forces and the elite Yahalom engineering unit have spent approximately six months locating, investigating, and mapping these tunnels, which were built over many years.

According to Colonel M., commander of the Commando Brigade, the operation has been ongoing for half a year, with forces from the 36th Division and its brigades actively working to neutralize Hezbollah's subterranean assets in the Beaufort and Ali Taher ranges. He described one specific tunnel found in the Ali Taher area as a strategic asset for the organization, which the forces were preparing to destroy.

Colonel A., commander of the Yahalom unit, detailed the recent operations involving the commando forces, including the Egoz, Maglan, and Yahalom units. He stated that soldiers secured the area, gaining operational control of the surface while trapping militants within the underground tunnels. He also reported close-quarters combat when militants attempted to flee the tunnels, resulting in their deaths.

Upon entering the tunnels, soldiers discovered extensive infrastructure built over many years by Iran for Hezbollah, intended to target Israeli civilians and military forces. The IDF stated that its forces would not leave the area until all discovered weaponry and infrastructure were destroyed, emphasizing that the IDF's reach extends to all enemies, even those hiding in underground complexes, to protect Israeli citizens.
