EuroLeague Star Praises Maccabi Tel Aviv, Predicts Big Season for Wallace

As the EuroLeague season approaches, with the opening tip-off just eight days away, basketball analysts are weighing in on team prospects. In a recent episode of the "Triple Threat Show," hosted by Crvena Zvezda star Chima Moneke, Maccabi Tel Aviv was ranked 11th in their power rankings.

Analyst Dionysis Arvanitakis commented on Maccabi's unpredictability, stating, "Maccabi is a team that's a bit hard to judge. They could finish in a higher position, and also in a lower position." He specifically highlighted player Keeton Wallace, expressing a strong desire to watch him play. Arvanitakis suggested that while Wallace might not be ready for a top EuroLeague team competing for a championship, playing for a team like Maccabi and aiming for the playoffs could be a better fit for his development.

Moneke agreed, adding his personal experience playing against Wallace in the G League. "It's fitting for Keeton Wallace to play for Maccabi," Moneke stated. "I definitely think Keeton could do something special this season." He praised Maccabi's team building under coach Oded Katash, noting that the club has given Katash more control and allowed him to recruit players he desires, creating a clear team identity. "They trust Katash, and he brought in the players he wants," Moneke added.

Fellow analyst George Amerikanos concluded the discussion on Maccabi by focusing on player Bonzie Colson. "I want to see Bonzie Colson succeed this season. I want to see the Bonzie from his first seasons at Maccabi," Amerikanos said, recalling a heartwarming video of Colson interacting with fans at the airport.
