EuroLeague Star Praises Maccabi Tel Aviv's Coach and Potential
As the EuroLeague season approaches, with the opening tip-off just eight days away, players and analysts are sharing their predictions. In a recent episode of the "Triple Threat Show," hosted by Crvena Zvezda star Chima Moneke, Maccabi Tel Aviv was ranked 11th in their power rankings.
Analyst Dionysis Arvanitakis commented on Maccabi's unpredictability, stating they could finish higher or lower than expected. He specifically highlighted player Keeton Wallace, expressing a desire to watch his progress. Arvanitakis suggested that while Wallace might not be ready for a top EuroLeague team competing for a championship, playing for a team like Maccabi, aiming for the playoffs, could be a suitable environment for him.
Moneke agreed, adding that Wallace's fit with Maccabi seems appropriate. Having played against Wallace in the G League, Moneke believes Wallace could achieve something special this season. He attributed Maccabi's potential to coach Oded Katash, noting that the team has built a clear identity under him. Moneke emphasized that Katash was given more control, recruited players he wanted, and that there is trust in his vision.
Fellow panelist George Amerikanos concluded the discussion on Maccabi by expressing his hope for a successful season from player Bonzie Colson, recalling his strong early performances with the team and a heartwarming video of him interacting with fans at the airport.
