Man Catches Fire While Attempting Arson Over Divorce Dispute
Dramatic security camera footage from Umm al-Fahm shows a man attempting to set fire to a motorcycle, allegedly as revenge amid a bitter divorce dispute. The suspect, who arrived in a white car, poured flammable liquid on the motorcycle before igniting it. However, the flames quickly engulfed him, causing him to flee the scene ablaze while trying to extinguish the fire on his body.
The driver of the getaway car fled the scene. Police and rescue forces were called to the location. Investigators from the Umm al-Fahm station launched an investigation, collecting forensic evidence and analyzing the scene. They were able to track down the suspect.
Based on the investigation, the primary motive for the arson attempt was an ongoing dispute related to divorce proceedings. The Haifa District Prosecutor's Office has filed a serious indictment against the suspect.
