Ariel University Launches Six-Year Medical Program for High School Graduates
The Council for Higher Education has approved the establishment of a six-year medical program at Ariel University, which will grant graduates a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree. The program is designed to admit 80 students annually, with the first cohort expected to begin their studies this year. This new initiative allows students to enroll directly after high school. Ariel University currently offers a four-year medical program for students who already hold a bachelor's degree. The expansion comes as medical school enrollment in Israel has seen significant growth, increasing from approximately 800 students five years ago to 1,446 annually, according to the Council for Higher Education.
