"As long as Washington does not make a practical decision, we are paying the price on the ground," the source added, noting that Saudi Arabia faces a more complex security situation than in the past due to multiple regional fronts, including Iran, Hezbollah, Iraqi militias, the Houthis, and perceived Iranian and Muslim Brotherhood interference in Sudan.

The source believes these developments impact Saudi security and Red Sea shipping, creating multi-directional pressure that necessitates a "repositioning" by Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states. The recent air raid sirens in Mecca, according to the source, underscore that the conflict is not religious but a struggle for regional influence.
