Yemen's Houthis Exploit US-Israeli Strategic Failure, Analysts Say

An analyst attributes the ongoing escalation in the Red Sea and recent Houthi military actions to a "cumulative strategic failure" by both Israel and the United States. Dr. Mahmoud Al-Afandi stated in an analytical interview that the inability of the US and Israel to achieve decisive political or military outcomes in the region has created a strategic vacuum and exhaustion. This, he explained, has allowed regional actors, particularly the Houthis, to exploit this confusion and establish new equations for deterrence, impacting international navigation and trade, thereby revealing the limitations of Washington's conventional military power.

Regarding Saudi Arabia's stance, media personality Marah Al-Baqai noted that Riyadh is handling the rapid developments with "high political intelligence and pragmatism." She elaborated that Saudi preparations are focused on protecting its "internal house" and advancing national development projects under Vision 2030. Saudi Arabia aims to avoid being drawn into "exhausting military alliances" or becoming a battleground for regional conflicts on behalf of other parties.
