Businessman Dan Turgeman to Begin 10-Month Prison Sentence March 2027

Businessman and former actor Dan Turgeman will begin serving a ten-month prison sentence on March 1, 2027, following a court decision to increase his penalty for tax offenses totaling over 3 million shekels. The 67-year-old Turgeman is expected to serve approximately five months of his sentence, likely at Hermon or Tzalmon prison, facilities often used for white-collar criminals.

Turgeman was convicted in 2025 based on his plea agreement for tax offenses committed between 2008 and 2017. Initially, he received a sentence of nine months of community service. However, the prosecution appealed this sentence, leading the Tel Aviv District Court to impose the harsher prison term last week.

Despite the increased prison time, Turgeman's financial penalty was significantly reduced. The original fine of 200,000 shekels was lowered to 60,000 shekels, and the state will refund him approximately 140,000 shekels.
