Ayelet Shaked Blames Netanyahu for Oct. 7 Failures, Calls for His Resignation

Former Israeli minister Ayelet Shaked stated that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu bears responsibility for the failures leading to the October 7th attacks and should resign. Speaking at a conference hosted by the Union of Managers, Shaked criticized the current government's management and the societal divisions it has exacerbated. She noted that a significant portion of the right-wing public feels unrepresented politically, lacking a party to vote for.

Shaked also addressed her own political future, revealing she considered forming a new party to unite segments of the right-wing electorate. However, this initiative stalled due to a lack of necessary concessions from potential candidates. Consequently, she has decided to remain in the business sector, focusing on commerce and real estate, while closely monitoring political developments.

Looking ahead to the next elections, Shaked anticipates that neither major political bloc will secure a decisive victory, leading to continued difficulties in forming a stable governing coalition. She believes this outcome is linked to the current government's failure to represent certain right-wing segments and the deep societal rifts.

Shaked's remarks come amid ongoing discussions about the political landscape and the potential for new political frameworks to emerge. While not actively returning to politics at this moment, she has not ruled out future involvement should circumstances change.
