Former Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked Blasts Netanyahu, Calls for His Ouster

Former Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked launched a sharp and unusual attack against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the current government's conduct. Speaking at a directors' forum event, Shaked addressed responsibility for the October 7th failures, the societal rift, and the possibility of her return to politics.

Shaked analyzed the current political landscape, expressing pessimism about forming a functional coalition in upcoming elections. She stated that the lack of representation for a broad right-wing public, who feel unrepresented by the current government, led her to consider forming a unity party. However, this effort did not materialize due to a lack of willingness among potential candidates to compromise. Consequently, she has decided to remain in the business and real estate sectors for now, while closely monitoring political developments.

"I think Netanyahu needs to go. He bears both responsibility and blame for October 7th," Shaked declared. "Many on the right have no one to vote for today because the current government has brought division and a severe social rift upon us. Netanyahu constantly asks why he is being boycotted, but he boycotts the other side just as much. In the upcoming elections, no bloc will win, and there will be no government, and you will see I am right."

Shaked's statements indicate that despite her current absence from the Knesset and focus on private sector activities, she is clearly signaling a return to public service. Her warning of a political stalemate and call for new connections on the right position her as a figure who continues to challenge the Likud leadership and prepare for future election cycles.
