Ayelet Shaked Calls for Netanyahu's Resignation, Predicts Election Stalemate

Former Justice and Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked stated on Tuesday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should resign, holding him responsible for the events of October 7th. Speaking at a conference hosted by the Directors Forum's Women Directors Forum, Shaked asserted that the upcoming elections will not yield a decisive outcome, and she is preparing for another round of voting.

Shaked criticized the current government, claiming it has caused deep societal division and that many on the right currently lack a suitable party to vote for. She explained her decision not to run in the upcoming elections by stating her initial belief that breaking up the political blocs was the correct approach. However, she observed a lack of public support for unity parties and a reluctance among candidates to compromise, leading her to remain in the real estate sector for now, while still looking ahead to future elections.

She further predicted that no political bloc would win the upcoming elections, resulting in no government being formed. Shaked also accused Netanyahu of hypocrisy, noting that while he questions why he is being boycotted, he similarly boycotts the opposing side.
