US Plans $2.8 Billion Arms Sale to Israel
A U.S. official revealed that the Trump administration intends to sell approximately $2.8 billion worth of munitions to Israel. The deal includes tens of thousands of 2,000-pound "bunker buster" bombs, specifically 20,000 MK-84 bombs and 20,000 BLU-117 bombs. The MK-84 is described as one of the most lethal munitions in Western arsenals, capable of penetrating thick concrete and metal, and causing widespread fragmentation damage.
According to the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, congressional committees responsible for overseeing major arms deals have been informally notified of the planned sale.
