Four members of one family from central Israel were arrested Friday morning on suspicion of harming a minor. They were brought to the Petah Tikva Magistrate’s Court for a hearing on whether to extend their detention.
One suspect was released, one woman’s detention was extended until Monday, and two other female suspects were ordered to remain under house arrest. Police asked for a stay of the ruling until Sunday and are expected to file an appeal.
The arrests stemmed from the interrogation of one of the suspects in the newly exposed pedophile network case, during which the allegations against the family members came to light. The offenses attributed to them include indecent acts by a guardian, abuse of a helpless person, and producing and distributing obscene material by a guardian.
