Biram Kayal Earns Sports Directorship Degree from Portsmouth

Former Israeli international footballer Biram Kayal has completed a degree in Football and Sports Directorship from the University of Portsmouth, in collaboration with the English Football Association. The 35-year-old, who was forced to retire from his playing career three years ago due to a severe injury, received his certificate at a ceremony held at the Emirates Stadium. Kayal has been active in football administration since his retirement, serving as the professional manager for Bnei Sakhnin and currently as an assistant to Boni Ginzburg, the technical director of Israel's youth national teams. He is also responsible for football development within the Arab community in Israel, under the auspices of the Israel Football Association.

Among his fellow graduates were notable football figures such as Tim Cahill, former star of the Australian national team and Everton; Cesar Azpilicueta, who played for Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, and the Spanish national team; and Tim Krul, the legendary goalkeeper for Newcastle and the Dutch national team. Senior lecturers at the program included Paul Barber, CEO of Brighton & Hove Albion, Kayal's former club. A source close to Kayal stated that his pursuit of the degree in England reflected his strong connection to English football, beyond his playing experience in the Premier League. Kayal reportedly maintains warm relationships with individuals at Brighton.
