Biram Kayal Earns Sports Directorship Degree from Portsmouth University

Former Israeli footballer Biram Kayal has completed a Sports Directorship degree from the University of Portsmouth, in collaboration with the English Football Association. The 35-year-old, who was forced to retire from his playing career three years ago due to a severe injury, received his certificate at a ceremony held at the Emirates Stadium. Kayal has been active in football administration since retiring, serving as the professional manager for Bnei Sakhnin and currently as an assistant to Boni Ginzburg, the technical director of Israel's youth national teams. He is also responsible for football development within the Arab community in Israel, under the auspices of the Israel Football Association.

During his studies, Kayal joined a cohort that included notable former players such as Tim Cahill, an Australian football star and ex-Everton player, and César Azpilicueta, who played for Chelsea, Atlético Madrid, and the Spanish national team. Legendary Dutch goalkeeper Tim Krul was also among the graduates. Senior lecturers included Paul Barber, the CEO of Brighton & Hove Albion, where Kayal previously played. Sources close to Kayal stated that his desire to pursue this degree in England stemmed from his strong connection to English football, beyond his Premier League playing experience. Kayal reportedly maintains warm relationships with individuals at Brighton.
