Eyal Golasa Returns to Youth Club as Football School Director

Former Israeli international footballer Eyal Golasa, who recently announced his retirement from the sport, has taken on a new role as the director of the football school at Beitar Tubruk Netanya, the club where he began his youth career. Golasa, who had a distinguished playing career spanning over a decade, expressed his excitement about returning to his roots, stating, "I came here as a small child with a dream, I went through a long and exciting journey. It's time to come home, I've returned to Tubruk."

Beitar Tubruk Netanya hailed Golasa's appointment as a significant step for the future of its young players. The club highlighted Golasa's successful career, noting his time with Maccabi Haifa, where he won two league championships and played in the Champions League, his stint with Greece's PAOK Thessaloniki, and his impactful years at Maccabi Tel Aviv, where he secured three league titles, a State Cup, and three Toto Cups. The club emphasized his leadership, professionalism, and high-level experience throughout his career.

Golasa began his journey in Beitar Tubruk's youth system before moving to Maccabi Haifa in 2008. He debuted in the Israeli Premier League before turning 17 and was considered one of Israel's greatest talents. A potential move to Lazio in 2010 did not materialize due to disputes with Maccabi Haifa. During his time with Maccabi Haifa, he scored 19 goals and provided 7 assists in 171 appearances. He later played in Europe for PAOK from 2014 to 2016 before returning to Israel to join Maccabi Tel Aviv, where he played 225 games, scoring 13 goals and assisting 24. His final club was Maccabi Petah Tikva during the 2024/2025 season.

Throughout his career, Golasa won five league championships, a State Cup in 2021 with Maccabi Tel Aviv, and two Super Cups (2019, 2020) with the same club. He also earned 17 caps for the Israeli national team. His retirement marks the end of an extensive playing career, and his new position aims to nurture the next generation of footballers.
