Meir Cohen Appointed Head Coach of Bnei Eilat Football Club

Bnei Eilat officially announced on July 30, 2026, the appointment of Meir Cohen as the new head coach of the team. Cohen, 54, has a notable coaching history including stints with Hapoel Arara and M.S. Daburiyya. He joins the club’s professional management led by Kobi Refua, aiming to promote Bnei Eilat to the Israeli Premier League. Cohen’s playing career spanned from 1999 to 2018, during which he was prominently associated with Bnei Sakhnin. He retired from active play at age 46 after a distinguished career that included years in lower leagues. Originally from Beit Shean, Cohen is remembered from a documentary about his youth club, where he concluded his playing days.
