Mother of Slain Man Says Sentence Cannot Heal Grief

The mother of Diyar Omri, who was shot and killed, expressed her enduring pain following the sentencing of her son's killer. Standing in court after the verdict, she stated that no sentence could bring her son back or fill the void left by his absence. "Our son is gone and will not return, we will not see him again. This sentence will not bring my son back to my arms, nor will it erase the wound his absence has left," she told Panet and Hala TV. She emphasized that Diyar was murdered in cold blood and that the family will continue to bear the pain of his loss, noting that the verdict does not signify healing. "The sentence has been issued, but Diyar will not return to us. We have lost a son whom we will never see or hear again," she added, her words conveying deep sorrow.

Earlier on Tuesday, the court sentenced Denis Mukin to 22 years in prison for the murder of Diyar Omri, a young man from Sandala, who was shot dead. The sentencing was reported by Panet and Hala TV.
