Father of Slain Palestinian Youth Says Sentence for Killer Offers Little Solace
The father of the late Diyar al-Amri, from the village of Sandala, stated that the 22-year prison sentence handed down to his son's killer does not satisfy the family's sense of justice. He emphasized that the family's wound remains open and the pain of separation continues since Diyar's death.
On Tuesday, the court sentenced Denis Mukin to 22 years in prison after convicting him of shooting and killing Diyar al-Amri. The victim was a young man from Sandala.
Diyar's father added that no sentence can bring his son back, stressing that the loss of a young man in the prime of his life has left a deep wound in the family and the community.
Following the sentencing, Diyar's father expressed gratitude to everyone who stood by and supported the family since the crime occurred, noting that public support significantly helped them endure this ordeal.
