US Analyst Identifies Potential Suitors for Israeli NBA Star Deni Avdija
NBA analyst Sam Quinn of CBS Sports has identified potential teams that could pursue Israeli player Deni Avdija, whose future with the Portland Trail Blazers is uncertain. Quinn suggested that teams with salary cap flexibility would be highly interested in signing Avdija, particularly if he becomes a free agent in 2028 at the age of 27.
Quinn highlighted Dallas as a potential candidate during the "Third Apron" podcast. He emphasized Avdija's value, stating, "This guy is on the cusp of being an All-NBA player." Quinn warned that losing Avdija for nothing when his contract expires would be a "disaster," as would trading him before the offseason if the Trail Blazers cannot secure a contract extension he desires.
Last week, Quinn reported a strong possibility that Avdija might not remain with Portland beyond his current contract, which concludes in the summer of 2028. In the interim, Avdija, alongside teammates Damian Lillard and Ja Morant, aims to advance the Trail Blazers, following his first career playoff appearance last season.
