NBA analyst Sam Quinn of CBS Sports has identified the Dallas Mavericks as a potential landing spot for Israeli basketball player Deni Avdija, should he become a free agent in 2028. Quinn noted that any team with salary cap flexibility would likely be interested in signing Avdija at age 27, highlighting his potential to be an All-NBA caliber player.
Quinn expressed concern over the Portland Trail Blazers' handling of Avdija's contract situation. He stated that losing Avdija for nothing when he becomes a free agent would be a "disaster" for the team. Similarly, trading him before the deadline if a contract extension cannot be reached would also be detrimental, according to Quinn.
