Israeli Forces Kill Palestinian, Arrest 8 in West Bank Raids

Israeli forces killed a Palestinian man and arrested at least eight others during raids across the West Bank on Tuesday. The Palestinian Ministry of Health identified the deceased as Ziad Mohammed Jaber, 54, who was shot by Israeli forces in the al-Bireh area of Ramallah. Forces had raided the area at dawn, firing live ammunition, which critically wounded Jaber before he was pronounced dead. His death brings the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank to over 100 since the start of the year.

In Qalqilya, Israeli forces arrested four Palestinians, including three former prisoners, after raiding the city and the nearby town of Kafr Thulth. The four arrested in Qalqilya were identified as Saleh Abu Saleh, Osama Sabri, Yasser Hammad, and Mahmoud Salim. In Kafr Thulth, four more individuals were detained after homes were searched: Mohammed and Mahmoud Maher Shawahneh, Abdel Latif Shawahneh, and Khaled Jihad Odeh.

Additionally, Israeli forces arrested a young man, Suleiman Yousef Ghanem, in the town of Aqaba, north of Tubas, after raiding his family's home. Settlers also reportedly cut and burned an electricity cable supplying the Wadi al-Rakham area south of Yatta, near Hebron, causing a power outage. In the Huwara area east of Yatta, Israeli forces reportedly forced a family, the Mas'afs, to evacuate their home for the second time in days, amid settler attempts to seize the property. These actions are part of escalating settler violence, often under military protection, in the southern Hebron hills, targeting Palestinian property and livelihoods.
