A financial dispute between basketball player Yam Madar and his former team, Hapoel Tel Aviv, could potentially prevent his registration for Maccabi Tel Aviv in the EuroLeague. The disagreement centers on several hundred thousand shekels that Madar claims Hapoel Tel Aviv owes him. Despite this, all parties involved express confidence that a resolution will be reached in the coming days, allowing Madar to play for Maccabi Tel Aviv next week against ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne.

Upon the expiration of Madar's contract, both the player and the club are required to sign a document confirming no outstanding debts. However, the recent emergence of this financial disagreement has complicated the process. Hapoel Tel Aviv has reportedly offered a compromise to the player and hopes to finalize the details soon.

The dispute is not expected to prevent Madar from playing in domestic league games on Thursday, as the league administration only requires an international release, which is facilitated by Madar's registration with the Israeli Basketball Association.
