Maccabi Tel Aviv Loans Uri Azou to Beitar Jerusalem for One Season

Uri Azou, a 21-year-old midfielder, has been loaned from Maccabi Tel Aviv to Beitar Jerusalem for one season. Beitar Jerusalem has the option to purchase Azou's contract and sign him for three years if he plays in over 50% of the team's games. Almog Cohen, who has followed Azou for a long time, finalized the transfer after Azou's loan spell with MS Ashdod last season.

Beitar Jerusalem will pay approximately 200,000 shekels for the loan. Azou previously played for MS Ashdod on loan for a season, where he scored two goals and provided one assist, though the team was relegated. Despite being considered a significant prospect at Maccabi Tel Aviv, Azou has struggled to make a consistent impact in his short career, partly due to disciplinary issues.

Azou expressed his excitement about the move, stating, "I am starting a new journey today, and there is no better place than Beitar Jerusalem to do it. I am coming to a club with a huge, devoted fanbase, tradition, and history, a club every player dreams of playing for. I look forward to starting and meeting the fans.
