Uri Azu Officially Joins Beitar Jerusalem on Loan

Uri Azu has officially signed with Beitar Jerusalem, joining Almog Cohen's squad after his transfer from Maccabi Tel Aviv was finalized. The young midfielder will be loaned out without a transfer fee until the end of the season. The agreement includes a mandatory purchase clause for 60% of his contract for one million shekels, contingent on Azu meeting pre-set performance targets related to playing time, goals, and assists.

As first reported by Ynet, Azu reached an understanding with Maccabi Tel Aviv's management during the holiday period to skip the final training session before the derby. The player requested to avoid potential friction with Maccabi fans following his move to Beitar, and his request was granted following pressure from his family.

Azu is expected to participate in his first training session with Beitar Jerusalem on Wednesday at Beit Vagan. He is also likely to attend Beitar's match against Maccabi Petah Tikva at Bloomfield Stadium on Tuesday.

This signing marks Beitar Jerusalem's final acquisition in the current transfer window, following the addition of Colombian midfielder Serna, who was purchased from Independiente Medellín for 600,000 euros.
