Maccabi Tel Aviv Loan Uri Azu to Beitar Jerusalem
Beitar Jerusalem has completed the signing of Uri Azu on loan from Maccabi Tel Aviv until the end of the season. The deal includes an option for Beitar Jerusalem to purchase 60% of Azu's rights for 1.2 million shekels after the loan period concludes. This purchase option is contingent on the number of games Azu plays and the minutes he accumulates.
Azu, a 21-year-old winger, is considered a significant talent who emerged from Maccabi Tel Aviv's youth academy but has yet to fully realize his potential in his senior career. In the 2024/25 season, he scored seven goals for Hapoel Ramat Hasharon in the National League and finished the season with MS Ashdod, where he was also on loan the previous year. During his time with MS Ashdod, he made 15 appearances, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
Beitar Jerusalem hopes Azu will fulfill his potential with their club. His debut could potentially be this coming Saturday when Beitar Jerusalem hosts Hapoel Haifa.
