Hapoel Jerusalem Pursues Ex-Maccabi Star Lorenzo Brown
Hapoel Jerusalem is reportedly interested in acquiring Lorenzo Brown, a prominent guard who previously played for Maccabi Tel Aviv. Brown is not in the plans of his current team, Italian club Olimpia Milano, for the upcoming season.
Brown signed a long-term contract with Milano last season but was limited to just 12 games due to injuries. He was notably absent from the team's preparation game roster against Strasbourg, which featured 15 players, highlighting his diminished role. The team's current backcourt includes several other guards, suggesting Brown's departure is likely.
Adding to the speculation, Brown recently tweeted "Free me," a clear indication of his desire to leave Milano. His contract with the Italian club extends until the end of the season, but he has no intention of continuing with them. During his limited playing time, Brown averaged 5.8 points and 2.7 assists per game.
The 36-year-old guard has had a somewhat limited role since leaving Maccabi Tel Aviv, starting only 15 EuroLeague games across two seasons. In the 2024/25 season, he served as a backup point guard for Panathinaikos.
