Israeli Construction Tech Startup Buildots Nears $1 Billion Valuation After Major Funding Round
Israeli startup Buildots, which has developed an AI-powered system for the construction industry, has raised $130 million, bringing its valuation close to $1 billion, according to sources familiar with the company. This marks a significant increase from its previous funding round 18 months ago, where it raised $45 million at a $300 million valuation. Buildots was recognized as the third most promising startup in Calcalist's 2025 rankings.
The funding round was led by O.G. Venture Partners, founded by David Ofer, son of Eyal Ofer. Other participating investors included Lightspeed Venture Partners, Intel Capital, Mohari Ventures, Human Capital, and Israeli funds Kamran, Viola Growth, and Poalim Equity, along with Avigdor Wilf. This latest investment brings Buildots' total funding to $297 million since its inception, with the company reportedly tripling its annual revenues.
Founded in 2018 by three graduates of the elite Talpiot program, Buildots' leadership includes CEO Roi Danon, CPO Aviv Libovich, and CTO Yekir Sudri. The company employs over 400 people, with 260 based in Israel, around 100 in the U.S., and the rest in Europe.
Buildots' solution uses a 360-degree camera, often mounted on a site manager's helmet, to capture progress on construction sites. This data is fed into an AI system that identifies potential delays and suggests ways to expedite work to meet deadlines. The system has reportedly reduced project delays by 50% and saved an average of three months on project timelines.
While the technology is applicable to residential and commercial construction, including hospitals and dormitories, its growth has been significantly boosted by the surge in data center construction, driven by the AI revolution. The urgent need to build these facilities quickly has become a critical factor in the competition among cloud and AI companies. "We started seeing the first signs of the data center boom two years ago, and since then we have received a significant backlog of orders from major companies in the U.S. and Europe," said Roi Danon. "We found ourselves at a critical juncture and have been growing incredibly since then."
Buildots' clients include Digital Realty, a major data center developer, as well as Intel, STO Building Group, JE Dunn, Mortenson, Bouygues, HOCHTIEF, and Israeli construction firms Tidhar, Ashtrom, Azrieli, and Mivne. The company's AI-driven approach is seen as revolutionizing the construction industry, similar to how Mobileye transformed transportation.
