Prominent Satmar Hasid Dies Suddenly at 47
Rabbi Yaakov Weiss, a leading figure among Satmar Hasidim in Ramat Beit Shemesh Bet, passed away suddenly at the age of 47. He collapsed at his parents' home in Jerusalem shortly before the onset of the holiday and was rushed to the hospital. He died on Shabbat.
Weiss was known as a pleasant, courteous, and smiling individual who greeted everyone warmly. He is survived by his wife and their 9-year-old son, who was born after 16 years of waiting. His father is Rabbi Yitzchak Weiss, a prominent leader of the Eda Haredit community in Jerusalem.
The funeral took place on Sunday evening, departing from Shagar Funeral Home in Jerusalem and proceeding to Har HaMenuchot cemetery for burial.
