Israeli Forward Dor Turgeman Stars in New England Revolution's MLS Victory

Israeli forward Dor Turgeman continued his strong season in Major League Soccer, playing a pivotal role in the New England Revolution's 2-1 away win against Chicago Fire on Sunday night. Turgeman scored the opening goal and assisted the second, marking his third multi-goal involvement game of the season.

He opened the scoring in the 39th minute, intercepting a clearance and launching a counter-attack. Turgeman outpaced defender Sam Rogers before slotting the ball past Chicago goalkeeper Chris Brady into the corner. This goal was his seventh of the season and third in his last five games.

Two minutes into the second half, Turgeman received a through ball from Jackson Yuell, entered the box from the left, and delivered a low cross for Carles Gil to tap in, extending the lead to 2-0. Turgeman now has seven goals and five assists for the season.

Chicago's Maren Haile-Selassie scored in the 62nd minute and thought he had equalized four minutes later, but the goal was disallowed for offside. Despite Chicago's late pressure, including 21 shots to New England's four, the Revolution defense, including goalkeeper Matt Turner, held on for the win, preventing Robert Lewandowski from making a significant impact.

Ilie Sanchez replaced Turgeman in the 81st minute to help secure the victory. The win keeps New England Revolution in third place in the Eastern Conference with 43 points, two points behind Inter Miami.
