Parents Sue for $30,000 After Daughter's Brutal Attack and Humiliation

The parents of a 15-year-old girl, identified as Limor (a pseudonym), are suing the parents of a 13-year-old girl, Lital (a pseudonym), for 120,000 shekels (approximately $30,000) following a violent assault and subsequent online humiliation. The incident, which occurred in May, began when Lital allegedly initiated a physical confrontation with Limor after discovering Limor had kissed her boyfriend. According to the lawsuit filed in the Beersheba Magistrate's Court, Lital slapped Limor, and when Limor attempted to leave, Lital's friends surrounded her. One of them allegedly pulled Limor's hair, threw her to the ground, and continued to punch her head while she was on the floor.

Following the physical attack, videos of the assault were circulated on WhatsApp, causing Limor further humiliation. Limor's parents filed a police complaint, and both Lital and an accomplice were questioned by the youth division of the Beersheba police. Screenshots indicate Lital may have attempted to coordinate the deletion of evidence from group chats where the videos were shared.

The lawsuit claims Lital initiated and planned the attack, involving other teenagers, and was responsible for distributing the video, thereby violating Limor's privacy and dignity. The plaintiffs' attorneys stated that the legal system must send a clear message that violence has a price and that perpetrators will be held accountable. Limor's father added that the family was forced to move to a new neighborhood because his daughter was traumatized and fearful after the attack, highlighting a perceived lack of boundaries and parental oversight among the involved youths.

The family of the accused girl, Lital, declined to comment on the lawsuit. The incident underscores concerns about escalating youth violence and the impact of online dissemination of such acts.
