Rina Matzliach Reveals Past Pregnancy Discussion with Dana Weiss

Veteran Israeli journalist Rina Matzliach recently opened up in a candid interview with Omri Assenheim on Channel 13, discussing past professional disputes, her departure from "Meet the Press," and deeply personal matters.

Matzliach addressed a past public spat on Twitter with Assenheim, admitting that while she was hurt at the time, she has since moved past the incident. "At the time I was very hurt. But it passed. I am a very emotional person," she stated.

The conversation then shifted to her departure from the investigative program "Meet the Press." Matzliach revealed that she felt pressured to leave, suggesting it was partly due to competition with fellow journalist Ayelet Hason, whose ratings were reportedly surpassing hers. She also indicated that management may have wanted to shift the program's political leaning towards the right. "It was more than hinted that I should leave. At that time Ayelet Hason was broadcasting against me, and she surpassed me in ratings, and I think that pressured my managers a bit. And I also think they wanted to bring in more right-wing content," she explained.

Matzliach also spoke about leaving Channel 12 entirely, describing it as an emotionally difficult period, though she expressed no regret over the decision itself. "I was very sad when I left. I cried a lot, but I never regretted leaving."

In a particularly personal revelation, Matzliach disclosed a past conversation with fellow journalist Dana Weiss about the possibility of undergoing pregnancy together. "There was one moment when Dana Weiss told me, 'Let's get pregnant together,' and we sat and talked about it, both of us, and I cried and told her no," Matzliach shared, explaining that she ultimately decided against it. Assenheim also shared a personal anecdote, recounting how his mother passed away on the day of his first television appearance over two decades ago.
